Argentina: The foreign-currency regime

Other posts

During the last twelve years, and particularly during approximately the last four years, there was no free importation in Argentina, the foreign-currency economy was restricted - it was similar as in Czechoslovakia in the past which means that the one who wanted to import, although having money, could not, and had to apply for an official foreign-currency contribution, the approval of which usually was very mysterious, in fact with no rules, and was done much via connections or political influences, and therefore, getting to Argentina was almost impossible. There was some typical importation of car producers as Argentina is an automotive power similarly to the Czech Republic or Slovakia, so this worked well but the typical importation for our exporters was basically impossible. The situation is gradually changing, and I suppose that approximately from March 2016, the free importation of goods to Argentina will be renewed.
